1Bảng lùi thì cốt lõi
am/is/are → was/were; do/does → did; have/has → had; will → would; can → could; may → might; must → had to.
- →'I am happy.' → He said he was happy.
- →'I can swim.' → She said she could swim.
2Trạng từ thời gian / nơi chốn
now → then; today → that day; tomorrow → the next day; yesterday → the day before; here → there; this → that.
- →'I'll arrive tomorrow.' → He said he would arrive the next day.
3Câu hỏi và câu mệnh lệnh
Yes/No question: asked + if + S + V. Wh- question: asked + wh-word + S + V. Mệnh lệnh: told + O + (not) to + V.
- →'Where are you?' → He asked where I was.
- →'Stop!' → She told me to stop.
Memory tips
- •Nếu nội dung vẫn đúng đến hiện tại, không bắt buộc phải lùi thì.
- •Sau 'asked' có thể có tân ngữ + if/wh-clause.
